What the INNCOM e7 Is

The INNCOM e7 is a direct digital control (DDC) thermostat and, in INNCOM's training documentation, the newest member of the INNCOM smart-thermostat line — the current-generation platform. It is built around a connecting platform: INNCOM describes the e7 as the main component of a technology-enabling platform with integrations ranging from property management systems to in-room voice control. When deployed on a network, the e7 provides real-time and trended data so INNcontrol can supply room status, energy management, equipment alarm reporting, and integration to a hotel's PMS, BMS, and other systems.

The e7 is a current platform for new installations, upgrades, and projects. It runs alongside the established E528, which remains in production and relevant. The e7 being newer does not mean E528 owners need to move.

Documented capabilities

• DDC thermostat controlling HVAC in a guest room (fan coils, heat pumps, PTACs).
• Fan control (low / medium / high / off) and mode selection (off / auto / heat / cool) at the unit.
• Real-time and trended data on a networked deployment.
• Integration with property management and building management systems and other third-party technologies.

Occupancy sensing (PIR)

The e7 includes a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor on the unit, letting it sense occupancy as part of the room's energy management.

Wiring and voltage options

The e7 is a wired thermostat with different supply options. In the manufacturer's ordering information, e7 units are offered at 24 Vac and at 100–277 Vac, with additional low-voltage variants. Harness and installation-kit part numbers accompany the thermostat.

Mounting and installation

INNCOM's installation guidance places the e7 about 1.5 m (5 ft) above the floor, away from drafts, ducts, radiant heat, and concealed pipes. It typically mounts on a standard double-gang (4 × 4) junction box using a Smart Wall Mounting Plate and an optional spacer ring, with power/HVAC signals on one connector and low-voltage signals on another.

e7 and the E528

The E528 is an established, still-produced INNCOM thermostat with a large installed base. The e7 is the newer/current-generation platform. For properties choosing to move to the e7, the e7 is a plug-and-play replacement for the E528. Both remain relevant, and the appropriate choice depends on the property, HVAC equipment, wiring, and project requirements.
